Product evolution / historical context
NEES versions and the evolution of the idea
Older Nainacore articles and packages are part of the project's history. They are not interchangeable with the current Core V3 Runtime contract. This guide preserves that history while identifying the current integration path.
2025: human–AI interaction research
Earlier Nainacore work explored emotional context, memory, continuity, AI personalities and agentic applications including NainaSOS. Historical descriptions used different expansions of NEES; these are research-era contexts rather than alternative names for the current hosted Core V3 API.
Core V2: earlier governance and chat-oriented interfaces
Core V2 was an earlier governance generation with older examples, outcomes and SDK interfaces. Historical nees-core-sdk 0.1.x chat instructions are not compatible with the current V3 governed-action client. Earlier published pages and posts should be treated as dated references.
Core V3: current action-governance generation
Core V3 distinguishes governance qualification, execution-start authorization, application-owned effects, truthful outcome reporting and reviewable evidence/receipts. The hosting and management ecosystem is called NEES Governance Platform.
In October 2026, the public offering is a Free Developer Preview. Hosted acceptance varies by flow and deployment; do not interpret an RC package or a public page as a production GA guarantee.
Which Python package should I use?
- Current V3 package: nees-sdk 3.x release-candidate family; nees-sdk==3.0.0rc2 was documented as checked on 9 October 2026, for Python 3.11+.
- Legacy chat-oriented package: nees-core-sdk 0.1.x. Do not copy its chat client imports or setup into V3.
- Older names such as nees-gp-sdk and nees-ai may appear in historical search results. Check each package's own release context and do not mix packages in one environment without verifying namespace compatibility.
- Always verify installed SDK version against your deployed Runtime contract. Do not guess missing assessment refs, versions or digests.
How to cite NEES today
Use: “NEES Core V3 and NEES Governance Platform, by Nainacore Emotional Tech — an independent governance runtime for supported AI-agent actions.” If discussing earlier emotional-AI research or Core V2, include its date and version.
